Video Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a wonderful diagnostic tool. Essentially, endoscopic equipment allows us to look inside the body (stomach, esophagus, colon, ear canal, throat, etc). We utilize video endoscopy, where the procedure is projected onto a video screen, for a variety of reasons, but most commonly to check the esophagus and stomach for obstructions, to search for the cause(s) of chronic vomiting or diarrhea, and to study the ear canal to document and treat infections and other problems. Often, we will perform biopsies using endoscopic equipment.
